We started this project for The Old Toy Guide to create a Website containing useful information about old and collectable toys.
We have been working closely with the guys at The Old Toy Guide as we've been taking an incremental approach to the development of the site. By this I mean that we've been releasing small area of functionality to the live site when development and testing of those areas are complete.
This approach has allowed The Old Toy Guide to get online and start attracting visitors much earlier than waiting for development of the entire site to complete.
After performing the requirements analysis and creating a requirements document, we gave each requirement a ranking score. This score uses an algorithm to identify how important the requirement is to the overall site objectives.
We were then able to prioritise the development of the functionality based of the scores.
The Old Toy Guide and ourselves are very pleased with the results of this approach as after two weeks of starting the development work and less than 50% of the functionality being deployed to the live system, The Old Toy Guide are recieving 100+ hits per day and 20+ page views per day. These numbers are small but when you consider that they would be zero until the development work was completed had this been a project with a more conventional approach, the figures are great.
